Hiro Aso joined John McAslan + Partners in 1994, after being with ADH Architects in Tokyo, and was appointed director of JMP’s Urban Infrastructure unit in 2005. He has over 10 years experience of major transportation projects, and is well known to the Network Rail team, and key planning and transportation stakeholders. Aso led the design team for the King’s Cross station redevelopment, which delivered the successful planning application. He manages design coordination across JMP’s Urban Infrastructure Unit, and oversees the project and design management of key commissions. In the case of King’s Cross, he heads the planning and stakeholder consultations, working with the client’s planning team. His skills have also been targeted in other kinds of project, such as the 22,000sft John Lewis commercial development at Paradise Street, Liverpool, and in consultancy roles involving the Heathrow Express at Paddington, Heathrow Terminal 5, and London Underground.
