
Tony Skipper joined John McAslan + Partners in 2000, with a portfolio of successful work in major school, further education and university projects. Skipper was appointed to lead JMP’s Manchester studio as an associate director, following the practice’s winning of the Manchester Metropolitan University Law Faculty commission, which was successfully completed in 2004. Tony was appointed as a JMP director in 2005, the year he was nominated as Prospect Northern Architect of the Year. In recent project leading roles, he has developed major newbuild, adaptive re-use, and masterplan schemes, including the Moor mixed-use development in Sheffield, St George’s Island, the University of Manchester’s Student Centre and Nursing Building, Universal House, Water Street and Hugh Mason House in Manchester, and Lancaster University. Tony has taught, or been a visiting critic at, schools of architecture at universities in Manchester, Leeds Metropolitan University and Liverpool University.
