John McAslan + Partners has always sought to add social and community value to its architectural schemes with by supporting, where appropriate, pro bono initiatives associated with them. The most obvious recent examples of this concern JMP's sponsorship of community projects for young people in the King's Cross area of London, as part of the practice's long term role as lead architect for the station's redevelopment. In another stream of pro bono work, the practice is working on a number of projects with the Clinton Global Initiative, including a community schools project in Malawi; the School of Genocide Studies in Kigali, Rwanda, as part of the world-renowned Kigali Memorial Centre; climate initiatives in Gujurat, India; and a number of community, cultural and education projects in Haiti.
