In 2005 John McAslan + Partners was appointed by Girvan Community Developments and the RSPB, following an open design competition, to undertake the design of a new community building on the seafront of the Scottish sea town.
In order to secure support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the client appointed our urban design unit for a separate study on the mid- and long-term development of the whole town centre.
Our team identified major opportunities and development strategies, including public realm improvements, transport proposals and the design of heritage trails. See also Ailsa Craig Visitor Centre.
