Oxford Street Transit Study
The Oxford Street Transit Study examines how one of the world's most important shopping streets could be improved by changing the mode and pattern of surface transport within transformed public realm conditions.
This new vision for Oxford Street proposes entirely new commercial and public qualities for the 5.3 hectares of public realm along Oxford Street, and to the ‘bookend’ public spaces at Marble Arch and St Giles Circus.

The public realm study proposes new high quality pavement, a strategy for tree planting, and a new system of high tech urban lighting.

The key objectives for this study include the dynamic regeneration of Oxford Street as a world-class retail destination, a major increase in useable, attractive pedestrian spaces, and higher quality, integrated surface transport.
