The landscape and facilities masterplan for Shantou University covers 130 hectares, housing 500,000 square metres of teaching, living, and student services buildings. The university sits in a lush valley, and is organized around a central park.
Over time, the park has become populated by athletic and student services facilities such as the auditorium and new library. JMP has planned the central park to better define the landscape character and integrate the heavy usage requirements for an educational institution of this size. Future plans include a new JMP-designed gymnasium and stadium.
