St Petersburg, Russia. 2014
This commercial development, now the hedquarters building for Gazprom, occupies a gateway site to the historic city centre along Moskovsky Prospekt, the main approach to St Petersburg from Stantsiya Airport.
The project is arranged over 10 floors, with typical floor plates of 1,720m² providing a total of 13,550m² of world-class office accommodation as well as two levels of basement car parking. The scheme is sympathetically scaled and finished to complement the historic context of St Petersburg. The facades, with their strong rhythm of clearly articulated fenestration, culminate on the 9th and 10th floors in a glazed pavilion, strengthening the building’s roofline and overall visibility, both from the streetscape and in terms of the exceptional views it affords over the city.
