Dorset Square

London, UK. 2006

The original 28 Dorset Square building is a Grade II listed townhouse in the Marylebone Conservation Area, which had been crudely extended in the 1960s. John McAslan + Partners’ award-winning scheme remodelled these elements, reworking the 1960s building so that the detailing of its elevations respond to the proportions of its Georgian neighbours in the historic Dorset Square. The transformed building is also newly linked to its Georgian neighbour by a full-height glazed circulation spine, which allows the historic building’s interior to be re-programmed and modernised to produce an architecturally well-mannered, bespoke business headquarters building.

'John McAslan + Partners has produced  an understated but rigorously contemporary partner to the existing listed Georgian facades fronting Dorset Square.'
