The Burrell Collection was announced as Art Fund Museum of the Year 2023 at a ceremony at the British Museum in London and on the BBC.

The Burrell Collection sits inside of Pollok Country Park; the large windows throughout the purpose-built museum afford wonderful views of the woodland setting.
Following a major refurbishment, led by John McAslan + Partners, it was reopened by King Charles III in March 2022.
The reimagined display, which celebrates the diversity of the museum's rich collection, was co-designed with a range of local community groups to ensure that it showcases diverse and inclusive perspectives.
Since re-opening its doors, it has welcomed over 500,000 visitors, rejuvenating Glasgow and contributing £20m to the city's economy.

Jenny Waldman, director of the Art Fund and chair of the judges for the competition, said:
"The Burrell Collection is extraordinary - a world-class collection displayed in an inspirational building, in harmony with the surrounding landscape of Pollok Park."
"All this was achieved with a strong shared purpose and with the involvement of local community groups in Glasgow."
